Iconic Fashion Creating Moments In History.

Fashion is everywhere and before I get into discussing fashion trends killing it right now I thought I’d go back a little in history and talk about fashion trends throughout history that really shaped what we wear today. We had some monumental moments of abstract and simple fashion that caught the eye of Americans and the world.

First up we got the now-classic blue jean. They had their debut in 1873 and people were very highly impressed with the durable fabric they quickly became a hit, now almost 150 years later blue jeans have become a fashion icon and designers have made almost every type of jean possible. My personally favorite, the 90s baggy high rise. The 90s knew what was up.

A timeless accessory is the leather handbag. Coco Chanel brought the legendary leather handbag into the world in 1955 and it’s been the standard ever since. Nowadays you can’t walk into a store and not see some version of it. I will eventually invest in one and it will be the best day ever.

Up next is an absolute staple piece everyone needs in their closet. You guessed it, a little black dress. This clothing item will keep its fashion legacy going forever. Black dresses did exist before 1926 but the iconic company Coco Chanel did it again and perfectly created a dress that holds high status worldwide. Personally my little black dress is my emotional support clothing item.

Outerwear now can be kinda crazy, let’s say distinctive. But back in 1879, the famous and still famous trench coat was created and boy oh boy am I happy it was. There’s something about a trench coat that can elevate any outfit. It was originally a rain-resistant coat designed for soldiers to stay dry while fighting. Burberry pulled this one out and I’m forever grateful.

This list is endless but to round it out and stick with the military theme let’s chat about camo. I have a love-hate relationship with camo, it honestly depends on the day. Camouflage was originally the green pattern on soldiers uniforms to help them blend in with their surrounds. U.S. troops first wore camo in WW1 and forever since is this pattern is honored. Camo never seems to die off, it’s been evolving into camo we see today. I have no idea why designers decided to make camo fashionably but I think they made the right decision and history shows that.

Among the icons also include bikinis, mini skirts, platforms, leggings, tracksuits, cuff bracelets, and so many more styles and revolution designs. I sometimes wish I grew up in the 60s, or 90s, but growing up in the 2000s is certainly something else, we have created many unique, possibly questionable, fashion trends and I can’t wait to give you guys the juicy inside scoop about everything fashion.
